DANVERS, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/24/10 -- LineSider Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of network services virtualization, today introduced private cloud automation with OverDrive Virtual Cloud Orchestration Manager (vCom). vCom enables IT organizations using OverDrive to rapidly build, deploy and manage private cloud infrastructures that can be tailored specifically to the unique needs of individual end users and delivered on-demand with complete automation, security and control using an easy-to-use graphical user interface (GUI).
vCom provides a GUI interface to OverDrive's Control Center and enables IT organizations to automate and orchestrate network services including access and security across both the logical and physical network. The solution enables IT and business analysts to create drag and drop business policies that are automatically translated into device-level configurations that dynamically create and adjust cloud services in real-time as changes in the dynamic computing environment occur. This automation and control saves significant amounts of time, labor and cost because network support teams no longer have to manually and individually configure discreet network services across large deployed networks.
OverDrive is the industry's first network services virtualization (NSV) platform for both enterprises and cloud service providers that integrates and automates the network services necessary to build and deploy cloud services. The OverDrive NSV platform transitions traditionally static network and computing infrastructures into dynamic, fluid and secure cloud delivery infrastructures that respond automatically to demand driven cloud activities.
"The network and data center infrastructures are still static," said John Donnelly III, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing at LineSider. "Every time a virtualized application, computer or resource changes in the datacenter, there needs to be some type of manual intervention to provision network services or repair broken security and access models. In fact, it has quickly become one of the biggest challenges facing large virtual computing and cloud deployments, the enormous amount of operational time spent creating and modifying network connectivity and maintaining security. This is especially true for companies with very fluid computing environments or private cloud environments where virtual services and resources are being provisioned, relocated and decommissioned on a regular basis."
