Tech Data Corporation to Distribute Raritan's Availability and Performance Monitoring Solution for Midsize Organizations

Tech Data Corporation to Distribute Raritan's Availability and Performance Monitoring Solution for Midsize Organizations

SOMERSET, N.J. and CLEARWATER, Fla., Dec. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Raritan, a leading provider of solutions to simplify IT operations, and Tech Data Corporation today announced an expanded partnership. Tech Data -- which sells Raritan's remote access and control products -- will start distributing Raritan's CommandCenter(R) NOC (CC-NOC) availability and performance monitoring appliance in North America.

"Tech Data, through its broad network of highly skilled reseller partners, is an ideal channel to help us support the growing IT service management market," said Gary Marks, Raritan's vice president, Sales. "Demand for IT availability and performance monitoring for the midmarket is very strong, yet this market is underserved. Midsize IT organizations are faced with either purchasing multiple point solutions or looking at solutions designed for larger enterprises -- both options are expensive and increase complexity." Through a comprehensive dashboard accessed through any Internet browser, CC-NOC provides availability and performance notifications on network, systems and applications. In addition, it identifies and tracks hardware and software assets, and monitors for security vulnerabilities and intrusions.

CC-NOC, which was introduced in the first quarter of this year, can help solution provider partners grow their product and service revenue in three ways:

* By offering their customers a complete, easy-to-install solution designed specifically for midsize organizations needing integrated service and security monitoring capabilities at an affordable price. * By using CC-NOC as an IT infrastructure assessment tool to help resellers support and engage customers. CC-NOC is a valuable tool for assessing prospective customers' IT networks in order to sell value- added services -- such as intrusion detection or Windows Vista Compatibility analysis -- and additional products, such as firewall/VPN and software applications. * By enabling resellers to develop managed service businesses that deliver recurring revenue -- such as monitoring, remediation, reporting and auditing services.

"Tech Data provides resellers with the solutions and support they can leverage to more profitably deliver professional IT services to their end-user customers," said Chuck Bartlett, Tech Data's vice president, Networking Product Marketing. "Solutions like Raritan's CC-NOC provide resellers with enhanced visibility into their customers' networking infrastructure, which can easily lead to additional hardware and services sales."

A comprehensive support program for CC-NOC -- including training, sales and technical support -- will be provided to resellers by Tech Data and Raritan.

About CC-NOC

CC-NOC is simple to install, learn and use, so that IT organizations -- without a large investment in time and resources -- are able to monitor their IT infrastructure and identify problems before they impact service. It employs autonomic computing techniques to address and fix certain problems automatically. If there is a problem, CC-NOC sends an email alert notification, which includes an embedded link to the server or device that has the problem. When used with Raritan's out-of-band access and control solutions, most server problem remediation can be performed without going on site. To learn more about CC-NOC, please go to
